Abstract Identity can be described as the sum of the attributes of a person who differs from the others, individualizing it. The teeth have unique characteristics that vary from person to person, such as size, shape, restorations and anomalies, so the dental arches of each help form their identity. The analysis of dental development through panoramic radiographs can give better accuracy when it comes to estimating age, because it enables a better view of the stages of formation and development of the teeth. The objective of this study is to observe the level of agreement between the results obtained by London Atlas method, which uses both tooth development as alveolar eruption to estimate the human age, and chronological age (real), through the analysis of panoramic radiographs. 456 x-rays will be used (228 women and 228 men) from a radiological collection. Radiographs will be evaluated to determine the stage of development and eruption of all teeth, on left and right sides as well as upper and lower arches, which will be compared later. Data analysis will be done by statistical tests that will help to determine the accuracy of the estimation of dental age and human identification through London Atlas method in Brazilian people. | |
