Abstract

The psychological knowledge of paranormal and religious beliefs and experiences in the Brazilian context (the theme of the candidate's postdoctoral project) still has many shortcomings. One concerns the relationship between thinking styles and religious and "paranormal" beliefs and experiences. The traditional instruments for evaluating styles of thinking have important limitations. To overcome them, researchers from the Brain, Belief and Behaviour Research Group, at Coventry University, have created the Ambiguous Decision Task (ADT). The candidate intends to adapt the ADT to the Brazilian context, a project wherein the coordinator of the Brain, Belief and Behaviour Research Group demonstrated great interest and support. During the internship, the candidate will discuss his original postdoctoral project; translate, improve, and adapt ADT to the Brazilian context; learn how to program ADT in Qualtrics; run a pilot study and participate in the daily researches and activities of the Brain, Belief, & Behaviour Research Group at Coventry University. After the end of the postdoctoral research, the candidate intends to validate the ADT in Brazil. (AU)
