The objective of this research is to analyze how the "Minha Casa Minha Vida" Program works in small cities on the Tenth Administrative Region of the state of Sao Paulo, also known as the "Presidente Prudente region". In order to conduct the research, small towns will be considered those with a population of less than 20 thousand inhabitants, establishing the analysis from the production and reproduction processes of the space and the operation of the housing policy as a form of State action. Based on this, studies will be done on expanding access to housing, the role of the "Minha Casa Minha Vida" Program in territorial expansion processes and on the expansion or reduction of socio-spatial inequalities. On the one hand, the focus on small cities is justified by the fact that it is a predominant reality when one considers its quantitative presence in the Brazilian urban network and, secondly, by the absence of studies about this realities.
