Abstract

The current project is a proposal for a research internship at the Theatre Studies Department at the Utrecht University (UU), Netherlands, which includes a four months visit to an important research and training centre for contemporary dance, theatre and performance dramaturgy and a collaboration with a prominent researcher in the field: Professor Maaike Bleeker. During the internship I will follow the practical and theoretical training activities of the Masters course in Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy and will also organise workshops (with local volunteers) where I will hold Choreology training sessions and practical experimentation towards the development of an affective dramaturgy (which has been my current research focus). The institution, the programme and the advisor were chosen considering their extensive (and pioneer) experience in contemporary and dance dramaturgy. Professor Maaike Bleeker was chosen to supervise this internship as her published work and academic practice demonstrate her particular interest and engagement with dance dramaturgy and affect theory, having published extensively in the field of dance, theatre and dance dramaturgy.
