Abstract

Suicide among adolescents has required more attention from professionals in Psychology and Psychiatry and also from society, since the data show an increase in suicide in adolescents of 27.2% between 1980 and 2014 in Brazil, and this increase may be due to multiple factors. Currently, with the media disclosure of a suicide-inciting game, 'Jogo da Baleia Azul' and an American series that addresses the issue, '13 reasons why ', there has been more discussion on the subject and ways of preventing suicide. The understanding of adolescence as a complex period that requires attention and understanding, since there is a transition from the state of being child to adult, being a biopsychosocial change, inserts it as a phase of possible greater fragility and insecurity. This transition can even affect self-esteem in an intense way, causing mental disorders and suicide attempts. Thus, the main objective of this work is to carry out a systematic review on the subject of suicide in adolescents in Brazilian literature, in psychology and psychiatry, through the search of articles and theses in an electronic database. The development of the research will be through the quantitative-qualitative method, the results of the research will be organized into tables and graphs for better visualization, thus collaborating for the analysis of these. From the reading of the publications made available online, a qualitative assessment will be made. This will be accomplished through the evaluation of articles that indicate subjective phenomena associated with suicide in adolescents, also in the researched literature. (AU)
