Abstract

According with desired goal, different training programs can be used. The strength training changes the strength and muscle mass, as well the resistance training interferes in the cardiovascular capacity, in the body fat mass and also in regulating metabolism. However, questions about the permanence of these changes after a period without training, the detraining, so far is not well elucidated. Phototherapy has been effective in easing muscle damage and aiding in function recovery process. The aim of this study is investigate the effects of phototherapy in maintaining the acquired gain through the strength training and resistance training during the detraining period. Therefore, two types of training, strength and resistance training will be performed, each training will be realized in 12 weeks. For the strength training will be evaluated peak torque through Maximal Voluntary Contraction test (MVC) in isokinetic dynamometer and one- maximum repetition test, the structural properties of quadriceps will be evaluated through ultrasonography. In the resistance training will be evaluated VO2max absolute and relative, maximum heart rate, time to exhaustion and body composition (fat percentage and mass quantification lean and fat). (AU)
