Abstract

The post-exercise recovery has been approached with emphasis in the scientific scope, among the techniques used can be highlighted the phototherapy. Positive effects have been found in phototherapy both before and after exercise. That way, it is important to investigate phototherapy adjusted to the type of training and the moment of application, verifying the different effects of the application of the technique before and after exercise. Objective: To analyze the effect of a phototherapy with two light sources (super pulsed laser and LEDs) applied during combined training on functional performance in healthy young people. Methods: 36 male participants will be allocated from a stratified randomization into three groups: active phototherapy group (AG; n=12); phototherapy group placebo (PG; n=12) and control group (CG; n=12). The participants will performed combined training with sprints and squat twice a week for 12 weeks. The training will be divided into two phases. Phase 1 will be the adaptation phase, in which participants will perform six weeks of sprints and squat training. After phase 1, stratified randomization will be performed based on the concept of responders and non-responders to adaptation capacity. In phase 2, with six weeks, the recuperative interventions between the sprint and squat training will be applied, according to the group that each participant was allocated. The functional outcomes will be analyzed before phase 1, between phase 1 and 2, and after phase 2 and will be composed by strength and power test, squat jump test, maximum isometric voluntary contraction and sprint test. For statically analysis, the Covariance Analysis (ANCOVA) with general linear model will be used to test the differences between groups, with difference/delta values as dependent factor, group variable as fixed factor and baseline values as covariate.
