Abstract

This scientific initiation project addresses the implementation of a switchgear emulator (SGE), which will emulate five switchgears (SGs) including a mathematical model of the electric transient, operating algorithms, fault simulation, electrical digital interface and Ethernet interface with relay and communication with the operator. This equipment has the objective of making a faithful emulation of SGs in simulations of automation and protection of electrical power systems (EPSs) and contribute with research, development and teaching in the areas of protection and control. The student of scientific initiation is going to have contact with the state of the art of studies and simulation in real time's equipment, besides being able to apply concepts of the areas of electrical circuits, three-phase systems, control systems, automation, protection of electrical systems and development of hardware and embedded software.
