Abstract

Population in Street Situation (PSR) is a heterogeneous social group characterized by marginalization and social exclusion, whose health care, under the aegis of Social Determination of Health, represents a challenge for guaranteeing the universal right to health through Unified Health System (SUS) and, especially, Primary Health Care (PHC). Objective: To know how the access to Primary Health Care (PHC) for homeless people is given and to characterize the health conditions of this population. Methods: A cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative and quantitative approach, whose data collection techniques will be: documentary analysis, sociodemographic and 'self-perceived' health questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The research sites will be: squares, public places and other places commonly frequented by homeless people in the central region of Ribeirão Preto, the Primary Health Care services of the central region and the Municipal Health Department of Ribeirão Preto. The participants will be homeless people and professionals of the Primary Health Care Services. The quantitative data will be analyzed through statistical treatment.
