Abstract

Concentrated on four poems of the first poetic period of Manuel Bandeira (1886 - 1968), this project consists of a study of nature in his poetry. Nature's portrait is multifaceted, dialoguing with topics little explored in the Bandeirean lyric, such as the sublime and the beautiful, studied by Friedrich Schiller, stoicism of Seneca, vision of the divine nature. To analyze the main topic of this project in Bandeirean work, we are going to privilege an interpretative analysis of poems from the first three Bandeira's books, comparing them with others, by the poet himself and/or by others, when the study requires.
