Abstract

Rabies continues to be a disease of great importance to public health especially in developing countries. It is responsible for hundreds of deaths and post exposure treatments over the years. The most effective way to control rabies in municipalities is to vaccinate dogs and cats in urban areas. Good planning of campaigns is essential to fulfill their role of protecting human health through the immunization of domestic animals. This planning should be based on the knowledge of population dynamics of these animals, the distribution of the vaccine posts and the hours of operation of the stations, among others. Based on this information we intend to study the distribution of vaccination coverage of dogs and cats during the hours of operation of the posts in the municipalities of Botucatu and Lençóis Paulista, using the last campaigns of each municipality (AU)
