Abstract

Due to the great heterogeneity of soils around the world, the availability of nutrients appears as an important limiting factor for plant productivity in agricultural and forestry systems. The low availability of these nutrients in the soil, especially phosphorus, leads to significant ontogenetic and metabolic changes of the root system, which will affect the deposition of biomass between the aerial and underground parts of the plants, as well as their productivity.The use of biostimulants appears as a growing alternative in this scenario, once these compounds can stimulate greater development of the root systems, contributing to a greater area of nutritional absorption and, thus, recover the productivity and the plant development in stressful situations. Therefore, the present proposal aims to test biostimulants produced from different protein sources, quickly and inexpensively, identify the best dosages to be used to promote the development of soybean roots in situations of low availability of phosphorus in soil.
