Abstract

The aim of the present study will be to evaluate the effect of different sources (sulfate and hydro-ximineral) and different levels of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) on performance, bone and meat quality, carcass yield, copper and zinc concentration and in plasma and liver, haematological parameters, skin resistance and pododermatitis at 42 day old of broilers. One thousand nine hundred and twenty one day old male Cobb chicks will be used, distributed in 64 boxes of 30 birds each. The design will be completely randomized and the treatments will be: T1: 15 ppm of Cu Sulphate and 120 ppm of Zn Sulphate; T2: 150 ppm Cu Sulphate and 120 ppm Zn Sulphate; T3: 15 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 80 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral; T4: 15 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 100 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral; T5: 15 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 120 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral; T6: 150 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 80 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral; T7: 150 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 100 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral; T8: 150 ppm of Cu hydroxy-mineral and 120 ppm of Zn hydroxy-mineral. The diets will be formulated based on corn and soybean meal, according to the recommendations of each phase: Starter (1-7 days), Initial (8-21 days), Growth (22-35 days) and Final (36-42 days). The statistical analysis of the results will be carried out with the Statistical Analysis System (SAS 9.2). (AU)
