Abstract

We located two complementary axes of investigation: 1) The religiosity in psychoanalysis and psychopathology: cultural and clinical studies; 2) Transcultural clinic and politics of the other, in order to investigate the emergence of discourses of religion, culture and politics in the practices of the psychosocial field, in the contemporary clinic and current research in psychoanalysis, clinical and social psychology in Brazil. By means of bibliographic research, exploratory research and qualitative analysis, we will map out these three discourses, focusing on the way in which we have been reading in Brazil, mainly through psychoanalysis, phenomena linked to the pregnancies of the religious in culture and in the psychic way, to the relationship between cultural and social identity and ohterness, and to the appearance of social vulnerabilities in different clinical devices of psychosocial work, especially regarding the clinics with immigrants. We will also make a review of pioneering authors of psychoanalysis and psychopathology in Brazil, such as Arthur Ramos and R. Nina Rodrigues, advancing to more recent works that reach contemporary phenomena such as the evangelical-Pentecostal churches, spiritualism, etc. We are looking to develop a broad line of research in the IP / USP and between partners who are contemplating to develop both with a genealogical-historical perspective and ethics of the rationality of clinicians and investigators regarding the confrontation of the subject, in this age of advanced capitalism, with these discourses in the regulation of psychic and social life. Another expected result is a translation of some essays by one of his precursors of the transcultural clinic, Georges Devereux, in addition to a series of writings, seminars, interventions and partnerships involving the themes of our line.
