Tissue repair evaluation in critical surgical defects in rat calvaria with resinous root canal sealers

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate in vivo tissue response and the ability of bone repair of endodontic Sealer Plus and AH Plus compared to the control group. The materials will be deployed in the calvarium of 48 rats Wistar rats, divided into groups of 8 animals for trial periods of 7 and 30 days. After each postoperative period, the animals will be killers and calvárias removed and fixed in formalin at 10%. Then, the samples will be processed in hematoxylin-eosin and immunohistochemical for osteopontina (OPN) and Osteocalcin (OCN). The histological evaluation criterion will be 0: none or few cells and no reaction; 1: less than 25 cells and mild reaction; 2: between 25 and 125 cells and moderate reaction; 3:125 or more cells and severe reaction. The histological results will be analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test and Dunn, and the significance level of 5% groups (p < 0.05). (AU)
