Abstract

Historically the protagonism of the black population in the construction of brazilian society was silenced, misrepresented and denied. In contemporary times, it is believed that the Internet and web environments have become important tools to cooperate in the process of transformation of this reality. In this sense, the present research, under the aegis of Information Science and related disciplines, aims to analyze and understand how web environments can contribute to the rescue, sharing and preservation of afro-brazilian history and memory, and thus propose the creation of a an afro-Convergent, collaborative and national web-based platform that contemplates and gathers in a single environment diverse information from scientific productions, cultural events, to the mapping of initiatives and black collectives scattered throughout Brazil. Thus, the research problem is built from the following questions: how can the web environment contribute for not erasing of the history and memory of the black people? And what are the ideal and desirable virtual ambience requirements of an afro-themed web platform so that it can act efficiently and effectively in the process of information dissemination? The methodology to be applied focuses on the execution of an exploratory theoretical study of the literature on the proposed theme and on the analysis of the information design and the information content contained in some webs that address the theme of afro-Brazilian. It is hoped that, based on the studies carried out on the theme and the analysis of the web environments, it will be possible to construct a simulacrum of an afro-themed web platform. (AU)
