Abstract

Brazil consolidated the search for "clean energy" with the agrofuel from the world economic crisis driven by the oil crisis in the mid-seventies. Since then, lots of tax breaks policies have been implemented to stimulate the production of an "ecologically correct energy" and the Northeast of Pará state has been present in this scenario with the monoculture of palm oil competing with the profound transformations in the form of social reproduction in this spatiality, particularly in the county of Acará-PA. Based on the above considerations, the project aims to analyze the main territorial determinations that expresses themselves as a counterpoint to the dynamics of territorialization of quilombola peasant originated of Vila Formosa and 19 do Maçaranduba communities. The research is based on the recognition of the centrality of the territorial determinations produced by the advancement of the palm monoculture, which can be expressed through the collection of data related to the area of production and the strategies of land use and occupation, carried out by the palm oil producer's agents. These processes produce reflections on the demand for land by leases and / or acquisition, and consequent inflexion of their prices, competing with economic and social pressures on the forms of production of the communities. In a second phase, the composition of a database and information bank (quantitative and qualitative) about the trajectory of the quilombola peasants will be carried out, considering their productive strategies and forms of social reproduction, as mechanisms of resistance, which will be consolidated by questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Thus, considering the state of the art of analysis of the monopolization processes of the territories and the methodological procedures mentioned, it is considered fundamental to analyze and unveil the main determinations produced by the monoculture of large-scale palm oil, as well as the resistance strategies of the quilombolas and their specificities in relation to the expansion of capital, its corollary of expropriation and/or subordination, which is established in this part of the amazonian territory.
