The current research seeks to understand the working conditions and the forms of illness that affect the teachers of the Official Teaching of the State of São Paulo, having as reference the municipality of Presidente Prudente, located in the southeast of Brazil, west of the state of São Paulo, in the meso-region of Pontal do Paranapanema. The school environment, a locus of teaching activity, has become a space for confrontation, which is promoting illness in its various forms of from the labor, environmental, physiological and, especially, psychological. Faced with the reality of precarious forms of hiring and degradation of work, this dynamic has been causing suffering to the teacher and, with this, a important issue to be explored in the context of Work in order to propose ways of overcoming the issues raised, which are reflected different aspects of the life of teachers and students. In this way, it is problematic as the Union of Teachers of the Official Teaching of the State of São Paulo (APEOESP) has been positioned and acted to address these issues. To seek new elements that could support the advancement of the discussions in this the BEPE stage aims to demonstrate what has been problematized and understood up to the present moment and, thus, to change methodologies and to have contact as new looks with the Nova University of Lisbon, which maintains a group of dedicated researchers the theme on work.
