Musculoskeletal pain is a high occurrence in the world population and is a public health problem. Among musculoskeletal pain, there is the subgroup of muscular pain, which affects a large part of society. For this reason, our project focuses on the study of muscular pain in different periods of development, before its installation, in acute and chronic form. The overall objective of this project is to evaluate whether low level laser treatment (LLLT-660nm wavelength, energy of 3J / cm2) is able to interfere with the nociceptive and inflammatory response induced by the muscle pain model. For the induction of muscle injury, Freund's Complete Adjuvant Agent (CFA-150¼g / 300¼l) will be used, with two injections of 150¼L, one in the medial and one in the lateral portion of gastrocnemius muscle. The analyzes will be performed through behavioral, histological techniques and protein quantification. Many studies have demonstrated the positive effects of phototherapy on the repair process of muscle tissue, and our group's studies have shown the beneficial effect of laser treatment on chronic pain models induced by nerve injury. For this reason, we believe that this work will bring us more information about the time of onset of the injury and a possible intervention for a more effective treatment. Always looking for the improvement of the quality of life of the patient, since muscular pain affects a great part of the Brazilian and world population. (AU)
