Abstract

Potassium (K) carries the sucrose from the leaves to reproductive organs, inducing the productivity and quality of the final product. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the levels of cellulose in fruits of cotton cultivars cultivated under Urochloa ruziziensis residues, under different doses and management of potassium. The experiment design will be with five replications and a 6x2 factorial arrangement. The treatments will be: 1 - Without K and with brachiaria; 2 - Without K and without brachiaria; 3 - 140 kg ha-1 of K2O applied in the brachiaria; 4 - 140 kg ha-1 of K2O applied in side-dressing on cotton without brachiaria; 5 - 140 kg ha-1 of K2O applied in side-dressing on cotton with brachiaria; 6 - 140 kg ha-1 of K2O applied 50% in the brachiaria and 50% in the 30 DAE of the cotton. The second factor will be cotton cultivars: Early maturity cultivar FM 913GLT and late maturity cultivar FM 983GLT. The sucrose content and enzyme activity SPS, SuSy and Acid Invertase will be determined in opposite leaves by the fruit of first position in the middle third of the plant. The data will be submitted to analysis of variance and the averages compared by Tukey test (p<0,05), and graphs plotted in Sigma Plot® software. (AU)
