Abstract

Exist limitations of classic hypoxia and this sense more recently has proposed "sleep high and train low" (SHTL) and this model the athletes sleep in altitude and training at low altitudes. However aerobic and anaerobic investigations this model training is still scarce. Thus, the main objective of this project is to investigate effects the physiological parameters and performance aerobic and anaerobic after STHL. For this Twenty-four physically active individuals will be randomly divided into a control group, without exposure to hypoxia (GN; n = 12), and in the group, that will perform SHTL, which will be exposed to hypoxia during sleep (GH; n = 12) will perform training and taper (seven weeks training). All tests will be performed unilaterally and will be performed using one-legged dynamic knee extension model, using a modified cycle ergometer (Monark 828; Monark Exercise AB, Vansbro, Suécia). In the first period (Day 1), blood samples and Total mass of hemoglobin will be collected and after that two incremental tests. In the second period (1st Day), exhaustive efforts will be performed at 80 and 110% of the VO2PICO. In the third period (Day 2), six submaximal efforts (3 with the right leg and 3 with the left leg) will be performed, in intensities of 30, 40 and 50W and duration of 7min. In the fourth period (2nd Day), the procedures of the second period will be repeated, alternating the leg that performed the different intensities. A periodization for the topic, besides wave character, with intensities related to LAN and iVO2PICO, obtained in the first evaluation. Hypoxia will be generated (Everest Summit II TM) and transferred to isobaric tents (Portable Queen TentTM), where participants will remain 10 hours.day-1 during the sleep period. In this condition, hypoxia will simulate the altitude of 3000m (FIO2) of 14.5%. For determined aerobic (VO2PICO and threshold lactate[LAN]) and anaerobic contribution maximal accumulated oxygen deficit (MAOD and MAODRED). (AU)
