Abstract

With the development of many techniques that claims for an integration of the fuel sector and the environment, there is a need of finding economically viable ways to reuse these industries' sub products in order to reach sustainability. At the alcoholic productive sector, the development of a technique with satisfactory results upon the hydrolysis of their lignocelullosic biomass shows itself as an interesting candidate for studying. On this behalf, this project intends to study ways to prepare these materials in order to optimize its reuse for the production of the second-generation ethanol, whose procedure is still very expensive because of many variables and obstacles yet present at its research sector. For that, this project intends to establish an alkaline pretreatment condition with the use of the sodium hydroxide as a basic catalyze meaning to ease the subsequent hydrolysis of the sugarcane bagasse's hemicelullosic and cellulosic fractions. In addition, with the energetic and mass balance over the experimental results among with statistic and analytic techniques, the project will conclude the viability of its pretreatment method. All of these shall be done inside the Engineering School of Lorena's LASEP laboratory at the Chemical Engineering Department along with the helping of the Department Biotechnology and its Informatic Center.
