Abstract

Household organic waste represents a large amount of raw material for the production of methane by the anaerobic digestion process. The potential for methane production in Brazil is very large and anaerobic digestion systems for household waste play a key role for sustainability in the management of solid waste. The anaerobic digestion process, in turn, also generates the final digested product, which can be used in several ways. The mobile biomethane plant being designed at EACH has this purpose and the quantitative qualitative study of this digester is of great importance for the implementation of this type of system. In this way, the project aims to make this evaluation through parameters such as pH, moisture content, carbon / nitrogen content, total fixed solids, volatile solids, macronutrient analysis and inert impurities. It is hoped to achieve results that confirm the quality of the digest coming from the anaerobic digestion carried out in a container and to point to several uses in the urban space. An evaluation of the composting of these wastes may be necessary and may be carried out in the space of the EACH Organic Waste Recovery Center. (AU)
