Abstract

The Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) could modify the child development, such as behavioral changes, learning deficits, impairments in attention, oral language and facial growth alterations. Objective: To apply the Sleep Clinical Record (SCR) in Brazilian children with respiratory complaints, so that these new parameters could be correlated with the communication aspects. Methods: Observation and training of application SCR in the clinical practice at the Paediatric Department, Faculty of Medicine, ''La Sapienza'' University, Rome (the creators of Sleep Clinical Record); training of strategies used at this University for analysis of respiratory complaints; discussions with the group of sleep medicine scholars to establish comparison between the Italian sample and the sample of Brazil. To this comparison, will be included database of children with respiratory complaints which were evaluated in Sleep Disorder Clinic of the discipline of Otorhinolaryngology of UNESP, Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil.
