Abstract

Researches about oxides obtained as heterojunctions has been an important field for technological applications due to the synergism achieved by interfacial phenomena. The main idea in this work is to synthesize TiO2-tubes morphologies types and obtain the heterojunctions decorated with particles of CeOx. The synthesis will be done through the hydrothermal method assisted by microwave (HAM). It is expected to control the morphologies in facets (001) of nanosheets and nanotubes. This morphology has been shown to be highly efficient for photocatalytic application. The intention is to optimize the processing for application in photocatalysis and to evaluate the optical behavior by photoluminescence analysis. In the heterojunction TiO2/CeOx is expected that a reconstruction of energy band occurs, retarding the electron/hole recombination, and increasing the photocatalytic efficiency of the material. The obtained materials will be characterized by Raman, UV-Vis, and photoluminescent spectroscopies, X-ray diffractometry, scanning electron microscopy, surface area, and photocatalytic tests. (AU)
