Abstract

The aim of Camille Yann Rossignol postdoctorate is to establish the chronostratigraphy at high resolution of the Minas Supergroup, Minas Gerais region. The study includes characterizing the sedimentological environment based on outcrop exposures and the drill core library stored at Vale (Belo Horizonte) combining bulk and in situ trace element analysis, Hf, Nd and O isotopic tracers and U-Pb geochronology of zircons. The techniques used include sedimentary facies analysis, petrological and mineralogical analyses using optical microscopy, and SEM and cathodoluminescence imaging, as well as LA-ICP-MS analysis for isotopic tracing and datation.
