Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the displacement of caiçara families resulted from environmental impasses, more specifically after the creation of a Conservation Unit (UC) in the region known as Jureia-Itatins. Based on a theoretical-methodological framework concerning relations between nature and culture in the constitution of territorialities and in the field of anthropological discussions related to the processes of "objectification" of culture, we plan to verify the manifestation of specific modes of inhabiting, perceiving and constituting the environment. These perceptions will be examined in line with with mechanisms of territorial interference, proper to the cosmopolitical character of the conflict. In order to fulfil this objective, we will delineate the life trajectory of some displaced families to localities around the UC, seeking to provide an ethnography about the networks of sociability and the specific territorialities of these subjects immersed in various contexts.
