Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction with care has become an important topic in every health care specialty, including physical therapy. To date all instrument available for measuring patient satisfaction with physical therapy care presents ceiling effect, making it difficult to differentiate levels of satisfaction. Therefore, an adaptation of the scale from one of existing instrument is necessary. Purpose: Testing properties related to reproducibility and floor e ceiling effects from an adapted version MedRisk instrument. Methods: Will be performed reproducibility and floor e ceiling effects tests from an adapted version MedRisk instrument on that realized adaptation score system transforming categories answers in continues answers using a Likert scale of 11-points. All the patients will answer MedRisk and perception and global effect scale in two different moments, on the baseline (after received at least 3 physical therapy sessions) and after 24-48 hours. Statistical analyses: A reproducibility will be calculate by Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC 2,1) for the reliability and by Standard Error of the Measurement (SEM) for the agreement. The ceiling and floor effects will be measure by a simple percentage calculation. Expected results: Expected that this search produce a reliable scale to evaluate the patient satisfaction with physical therapy care without show a ceiling effect like anterior version. (AU)
