Abstract

This work proposes to study audiovisual performances of Brazilian artists in order to analyses the use of the pixel as a present element in the construction of sense or expressivity, and not only as a constituent part of the digital image. We will also investigate the existence of formal and dramatic implications of the cut performed live, in other words, simultaneously to the reproduction of the work, of which many of these performances make use. Starting from the definitions of classical authors, we will describe and analyze points of encounter and differences between a traditional editing on the island editing and the live editing, which make explicit use of the pixel, taking into account the specificities of videographic language and its ancestry in other arts and ways of making audiovisual.
