Abstract

This research project takes as its object the relationship between soccer, consumption and identity construction processes, seeking to elucidate the mediations that permeate the soccer universe of the city of Araraquara with a focus on the soccer association of the city, Ferroviária S / A, its supporters and the material and symbolic consumption of the goods that involve this sport through an ethnography. It is assumed that mediations between Ferroviária S / A, its sponsors, supporters and the consumption of club sports articles are related to the complex discussion about the identity processes as forms of social representation, since they involve practices of signification and symbolic systems .
