Abstract

The development of this research stay abroad has as its objective the historical research of the La Ceramo factory, the analysis of materials, the drawing of the building's plans, the study of the construction system and the state of the building, with its corresponding study of demonstrations pathological conditions in coating mortars. All this leads us to the realization of the diagnosis, where the necessary conclusions will be determined to establish the criteria to be followed in the intervention, defining the possible actions of consolidation, reconstruction and restoration. The project will help the student acquire knowledge about the type of coating used, as well as contact with other testing techniques, in addition to the scientific initiation project already in progress. Starting from the historical, graphic, constructive and pathological study of a historical building, we propose a different work from the one executed in Brazil, in this case, at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia - UPV, in Spain, city with which our search group MAPE - Manifestações Patológicas em Edificações has search links. Thus, the following stages will be carried out in the project: situation and location; historical background; general description; constructive analysis; pathological study of coating mortars (containing in situ tests of: measurement of electrical conductivity, determination of carbonation with phenolphthalein indicator and crack comparator); analysis of materials (coatings) by X-ray diffraction (XRD) tests and capillary absorption by contact; and the analysis and general discussion. The La Ceramo factory is an emblematic building in the municipality of Valencia, where its state of deterioration is currently aggravated by lack of maintenance. (AU)
