Abstract This project, entitled as Formation and meaning of literary neologisms: research and teaching, has as objective deepening the studies of literary neologisms. It aims to verify in which ways these neologisms, which appear in language for creative and expressive need, can become target of academic research and teaching of Portuguese language. From the analysis of these lexical creations, with the use of poetic texts from modern and contemporary literature of Portuguese expression, it intends to scrutinize which are the processes involved in various moments of creation and, specially, which is the effect of the resulting meanings. Through the theoretical assumptions that deal with the word-formation-processes as a part of the linguistic structure that goes beyond the limits of morphology and lexicology, it will be possible to meet the main objective of this research: studying the semantic behavior of the literary neologism, verifying in which ways these neologisms are being analyzed in academic researches and how they can reach schools, at Portuguese language classes of primary and secondary education. | |
