Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to presente the critical model for the analysis of law developed by Karl Renner in his Institutions of Private Law and Their Social Function, with emphasis on the role of articulating a time diagnosis played by the concept of change of function. After that the reception and actualisation of this critical model in Weimar by Sinzheimer, Fraenkl, Neumann and Kahn-Freund will be analysed. This actualisation will be explained with reference to the different time diagnosis of each author and presented as a collective enterprise that only received its most developed form in Kahn-Freunds The Change of Function of Labor Law, a text that synthesises some results of this enterprise without exhausting all its richness.
