Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to present the critical model for the analysis of law developed by Karl Renner in his Institutions of Private Law and Their Social Function, with emphasis on the role of articulating a time diagnosis played by the concept of change of function,in the context of the social struggles of the time as well as of the authors model of jurisprudence and his understanding of law as a social phenomenon. This diagnostic of time is at the same time a critique of bourgeois law that oscillates between a anthropological strategy of normative grounding and a critique of ideology. (AU)
