The techniques of reconstructive surgery were widely used in Veterinary Medicine, being a surgical option when the significant cutaneous loss, as in traumas and resection of neoplasms. Among the options are the cutaneous grafts corresponding to a segment of the epidermis and the dermis completely removed and transferred to a distant receptor bed, being applied mainly at extremities of limbs. The use of laser therapy with light at low power has been a tool with therapeutic intention to reduce edema, to stimulate angiogenesis, with anti-inflammatory effects and benefits the wound healing, through the modulation of cytokines, becoming beneficial in the association to the cutaneous graft. The present work aims to define the benefits of laser therapy as a stimulus to angiogenesis, healing and anti-inflammatory effect applied to the cutaneous grafts in rabbits. (AU)
