Abstract

In the transition between the medieval and the modern in the fourteenth century, arises period known as the pre-Renaissance which shows the artistic, social, political and economic transformations that took place during this period to give way to the fifteenth century, where the ideals of a new artistic language known as the Renaissance. Therefore, the transformations initiated in the Renaissance implied in the transformation of the professional field that influenced the social organization and the performance of the urbanistic architects until the present day, especially in what concerns the valorization of the authorship, the distancing of the drawing in relation to the construction site, in a clear distinction between intellectual work and manual labor, and technical responsibility for the works. The need to go back to a previous period, still in medieval society, allows us to verify possible resonances and even intellectual influences from the pre-Renaissance period. In this way, this research is justified on the basis of the complexity and importance of the theme, on the need to go deeper into the question and to verify, then, the transformations and resonances found in the period of transition from medieval culture to the modern period, in order to verify possible influences of the period in the social and professional organization of the work of the urbanist architect in contemporary society.
