Abstract

Chronic non-specific low back pain is a very common musculoskeletal condition in the world population, and has been considered one of the main causes of work absenteeism. To investigate the clinical characteristics of these patients, self-report questionnaires completed by patients on paper are considered to be reliable, of low cost and easily applicable. However, recent research indicate that electronic questionnaires are more advantageous for data reliability, shorter application time, automatic implementation of scores, low cost, Besides allowing the collection of a larger contingent of people and being considered ecologically viable when compared to paper questionnaires. And ecologically viable. Studies suggest that there is an equivalence between both methods, however it is important consider participant's preference for the method of application. Therefore, the objective of this study is to compare the equivalence of questionnaires for the assessment of disability, pain, kinesiophobia, depression and physical activity applied by tablet and paper in patients with chronic low back pain. For this study, 73 adults with chronic low back pain will be recruited and invited to complete the questionnaires in paper and electronic format. The order of the application will be pre-randomized for each participant. After one week, the same instruments will be administered again in the electronic or paper format, according to the pre-established order of randomization. For the analysis of the equivalence between the two methods will be used the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC2,1) with 95% confidence interval. . The results of the present study will determine the equivalence between the results derived from both methods to be implemented in the clinical practice of patients with chronic low back pain. (AU)
