Abstract

The cranial cruciate ligament is one of the main responsible for the stability of the femorotibiopatellar joint. When ruptured or lacerated, it provides instability of the tibia relative to the femur, leading to lameness and, also, degenerative joint disease. It is proposed in this study to evaluate the feasibility of autoclaved and non-autoclaved polyamide yarns by means of destructive mechanical essay, fatigue and biological tests using infrared (IV), scanning electron microscopy (MEV) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), fabricate a device which maintains the initial length of the national and imported polyamide yarns at the time of sterilization by autoclaving, to assay and make a polyamide toggle pin to anchor the national and imported polyamide yarns at the time of the modified TightRope technique.
