Abstract

This project intends to analyze the Amarna Letters - written in the middle of 14th century BC corresponding to the kingdoms of Amenhotep III (c.1388-1351 BC) and Amenhotep IV - later known as Akhenaton (c.1351-1334 BC) - exchanged between Egypt and some kingdoms of the Ancient Near East combined with some Egyptian sources from the Ramesses II's period (1279-1213 BC), in order to outline the pharaonic perspective about the interdynastic marriages in relation to the others Asian king's perspectives and the implications of this practice to the pharaoh.
