Abstract

This project focuses on the analysis of the alteration of migratory flows of Haitians (men and women) who, leaving Brazil, went to the United States in 2016 and, unable to enter this country, live in Tijuana, Mexico, paying particular attention how transnational networks of affection and "helps" take part in these changes. These networks will be studied from a perspective that understands the relations that establish within the networks are based on the intersection between gender and other categories of differentiation. This project aims to analyze how the transnational networks of affections and helps participate in the change of migratory destinations of Haitians who left Brazil and currently live in Mexico and how they are constructed and / or reworked in this new movement to another country. As specific objectives, I intend to: 1- Understand how the helps and affections are expressed in the social relations guided by these differentiations, and how they influence the life of the migrants; 2- Identify and analyze the relevance of the material and subjective dimension of these networks and to understand how they are constructed and reconstructed in the migratory context; 3- Analyze how these networks participate in the change of the migratory projects of the Haitians who were in Brazil and went to Mexico. For that, I will carry out an ethnographic work in Tijuana, including in-depth interviews based on the life trajectories of the Haitians who were present in this transit. (AU)
