Abstract

The Brazilian's juvenile justice requires that the treatment for adolescents' offenders need to be specialized and appropriate considering individual differences. That is necessary in order to determine the most suitable service and intervention, aiming social reintegration and preventing recidivism. However, there are no legal specification about how to evaluate and to intervene to reach the mentioned goals. Considering that are many differences among the adolescents' offenders, in terms of offenses behavior patterns and psychosocial needs, a Brazilian's adolescent offender taxonomy may help to systematize those differences, aiming a better phenomenon comprehension and guidance to juridical and psychosocial interventions'. Thus, the goal of the present study is to propose an investigation aiming the establishment of behavior and psychosocial profiles of Brazilians male adolescent offenders. The taxonomy will be empirically generated using data from 200 adolescents in conflict with the law, which corresponds to 10% of adolescents in conflict with the law total amount in the city of Ribeirão Preto. The data will be collected through the application of Juvenile Behavior Inventory, Social Skills Inventory - Adolescents Version and Jesness Inventory Revised - Brazillian Version, those will be applied individually as a structured interview. Will be performed descriptive statistical analyses and latent class analyses (one kind of clusters analyses). The main study hypothesis is that will be identified behavioral, social and psychological profiles of adolescents’ offenders, as were found in similar studies from others socio-cultural contexts. Thereby, aim to contribute with the phenomenon comprehension, with the discussion about the juvenile delinquency evaluation and personalized intervention in the Brazilian Juvenile System. (AU)
