Abstract

he current project proposes to evaluate an original educational technology on spotted fever in order to promote / facilitate learning about this disease. The studied population will be composed of students of the technical courses of the Center Paula Souza of the cities of Santa Bárbara d West, American, Limeira and Cosmopólis. This is a two-stage study: 1st Phase: Quantitative methodological study with a cross-sectional design, where the questionnaire to evaluate educational technology (pre and post test) will be constructed and validated in appearance and content by experts. Phase 2: The already validated educational technology will be implemented to evaluate if it can contribute to learning about FM. This is a quasi-experimental, before-and-after study, comparing the changes in knowledge about the disease among students participating in the intervention (McNemar Chi-Square test). The original educational technology has been built and validated at an earlier time during the researcher's masters and has five interactive and self-explanatory learning stations. This project will test the effectiveness of innovative original activities in health education, stimulate reflection on new teaching methodologies, and contribute to improving FM knowledge and prevention.
