Abstract

The Mathematical Modeling, which is as a pedagogical strategy in the context of mathematics education, is investigated in Brazil since the 1970s and became part of the official documents of the Ministry of Education in 2006. However researches have highlighted the difficulties of teachers, especially of Basic Education, in taking Modeling to Mathematics classes. Among these obstacles is the difficulty in complying with the curriculum, especially in schools in which the teaching material is compulsory, such as those in public schools in the state of São Paulo, regardless of each school situation. Considering this scenario, this research at the level of Scientific Initiation has the main objective to analyze the Modeling activities that are present in the national literature of the area, considering the final years of Elementary School. Specifically its objectives are, in addition to identifying activities proposed for the students of the final years of Elementary School, to relate them and/or adapt them to those present in the teaching material. Such a study will be based on the qualitative paradigm and it is expected to have a collection of activities at the end that could be used in future courses of initial and continuing formation of teacher, as well as disseminated through papers in events and scientific articles.
