Abstract Due to the great export of nutrients by eucalyptus wood, the fertilizer costs are the ones that most affect its cultivation. Because it contains essential elements such as N, P and Zn, domestic sewage sludge is a potential source of nutrient for the crop. However, the presence of toxic elements and the imbalance between the nutrients demand caution in its use. The objective of this research was to evaluate the possible effects of some toxic elements (As, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Hg, Pb and Se) on the nutritional status of eucalyptus. Therefore, an eucalyptus plantation (Eucalyptus grandis, clone SP5727) will be used in an experiment established in February 2015, in the municipality of Boa Esperança do Sul, SP, with 10 treatments combining doses of mineral fertilizer NPK+B+Cu+Zn and doses of sludge+K, with or without P and/or B. The development of the plants will be evaluated by the wood productivity in volume (semesterly) and in biomass (annually). On the occasion of biomass, leaves will be collected for nutritional diagnosis. The nutritional status of the plants, according to the treatments, will be evaluated by the indices of critical level, sufficiency range, integrated diagnosis and recommendation system (DRIS) and nutritional composition and diagnosis (CND) including toxic elements. The DRIS functions will be defined by the nutrient separation method in response groups: macronutrient group with frequent response: N, P and K; macronutrient group of rare response: Ca and Mg; group of frequent response micronutrients: B, Fe, Mn and Zn; group of rare response micronutrients: Cu; and the inclusion of a group of elements of possible response to evaluate the toxic elements. The results obtained will also be submitted to simple and multiple regression analysis, in order to obtain relations between the leaf content of the elements and the yield in volume and biomass of the crop. | |
