Abstract The main objective is to conduct a detailed investigation of eventual changes in the ocean circulation in the South Atlantic, associated with changes in the circulation pattern known as the Meridional Overturning Circulation (MOC), and the consequent impacts on climate, from regional to global scales. The work will be based on the analysis of model outputs, in situ data collected as part of Project SAMBAR and ancillary data from different sources such as Argo, XBTs and satellite remote sensing.
