Abstract

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a group of diseases represented by two chronic and recurrent diseases: Crohn´s Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Quality of care is a factor that interferes with treatment outcomes and patient´s quality of life. Evaluation of care services from the viewpoint of the patient can be a useful tool to improve the quality of IBD reference centers. The objective of this study is to evaluate the quality of an IBD reference center through the patient's perspective. Metodology: A cross sectional study will be implemented with IBD patient' s interview from the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu/Unesp. Social demography, clinical data - such as comorbities, use of medication, smoking status and alcoholism - and UC and CD related data - including activity and extension of the disease - will be collected and analysed. Quality of life will be measured by the "Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire" (IBDQ), and the presence of anxiety and depression symptoms will be measured by the "Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale" (HADS). Quality of the service will be evaluated by QUOTE-IBD questionnaire. Statistical analysis: descriptive and association test.
