Abstract

Clinical analyzes are currently important for biological biomarkers detection in the human organism in order to detect different types of diseases. In places with low infrastructure, it is difficult to carry out these analyzes, therefore, the development of disposable, low-cost and easy access devices have become increasingly interesting. This implies in performing analyzes without the need of very specialized locals and well-equipped laboratories. Thus, the aim of this project is to develop disposable electrochemical devices exploring the modification of polymeric substrates with carbon materials. The main process to obtain this modification will be the use of a CO2 laser to carbonize the surface obtained the electrodes on the surface of the polymeric layer. This process could provide low-cost and flexible devices that could be couple with wearable sensors platforms in the future. (AU)
