Abstract

The concern with the preservation of the environment has led to a collaborative approach to rethinking the ways of producing and storing energy. In this scenario, electrochemical capacitors have gained prominence as energy storage devices for mobile electronic equipment and electric cars. With the development of nanotechnology, new compound properties have emerged and leveraged technological breakthroughs. One is the amplification of the surface area of electroactive materials, achieved through a variety of nanoforms. Some amplification has shown to potentiate the energy storage of such materials. However, the effects of different types of nanostructures on the energy performance of certain electrode materials are still poorly studied. Thus, the influence of the nanoform of different metal oxides (MnO 2, NiO, Cu 2 O and CeO 2) on the energy performance of electrochemical storage devices: supercapacitors and batteries is sought.
