Abstract

This project aims to investigate the categories of tempus, duratio and aeternitas, as well as the relations between the theory of imagination and the theory of simulacra between the structures of thought of Lucretius and Spinoza. This project aims the investigation about the categories of tempus, duratio and aeternitas, as well as the relations between the theory of imagination and the theory of simulacra about the structures of thought of Lucretius and Spinoza. Aiming to consolidate and to validate the interpretations and arguments of the second part of this thesis of PhD, we advance to the third part about the philosophical anthropology in its completeness. The main hypothesis is the operative and structural homology of both philosophers about the apprehension of the temporal categories and, above all, their effects on the theory of imagination. In addition, we propose better analyse the aporia about the interpretative thesis of the distinction between tempora plura and durationes plures, trying to solve it with the encounter between Lucretius and Spinoza through the category of modifying contact.
