Abstract

This research has a double aim, on the on hand, it seeks to present the photo collection of Daniel Boudinet, not very much known to the Brazilian public, notably, in the light of Barthes's iconology of photography. On the other hand, it also aims to problematize the thesis according to which the theoretical apparatus of Roland Barthes does not contemplate photography as art. Methodologically, this work consists in a bibliographic research that includes the theory of photography as well as Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology. The corpus of research is formed by the photographic collection of Daniel Boudinet deposited, since 1991, in the Médiathèque de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (MAP)
